a post-rain moment
quiet surrounds me
in my enraptured
magenta
white and
dusty pink-orchid colored
living room
during this mid-day
soliloquy
a tumbling
easeful
gentle whirlpool
of cooling energy
whispers
“All is well.”
greenery cascades
pirouetting grace
outside my window
refreshed and exuding gratitude for moisture
received
thunder rumbles
in the distance
bidding a farewell
for now
and indicating a receding
moving
distancing
line of downpour...
birds have not yet taken up
their lullabies
they listen
hushed
by the magnificence
of glistening leaf
as sunlight sudden
and stark
emerges
heralding another moment in the cycles of
this earth...
may we bow are heads to this earth
to this great mother
whose only instinct is
to give and
balance
to receive and
equilibrate
to nourish
to simply exist
and notice these moments
of plummeting waters
thunderous skies
steady
sustaining sunlight
and the quiet of the
bird who
knows
