I must follow my own lights
dancing inside me
orbs of light
leading me onward
I am in new territory now
advancing out to the open sea
I let go of the shore
it recedes as the gentle waves, followed by more tumultuous ones
buffet me around
but a steadiness
a knowing
keeps me
going
a certainty not based
on mind
on elusive thought which
move hither and yon
but a deeper-than-mind
momentum
and with each plummeting down toward
this recognition of
and abidance in
pure awareness
fear loosens its grip
fearlessness emerges
exaltation in the unknown is revealed
freedom
