Nothing is for naught.

Nothing is for Naught

I have found, as I proceed, that nothing is for naught. In other words, every bit of effort over time, over the years, whether disparate or concentrated, leaves its golden trail - perhaps at times glittering, occasional specs of light here and there and, other times, with more definition - providing an onward guidance.

Long ago, decades ago, I discovered within myself this longing for freedom, for liberation - spiritual awakening - in this life. There is a word, a Sanskrit work, which describes this longing…Mumukshutva…The longing for liberation. And one who holds this longing is known as a mumukshu.

I think this word, Mumukshutva, is one of the most beautiful I have ever heard. Its meaning surrounds and permeates this word as it’s read and said. It is radiant.

And, I feel this longing arises out of the echoes of this liberation from deep within that somehow we sense and know, the echoes reverberating from that which is beyond time and space and reaching us in this very moment, this incarnate moment.

And signaling our birthright.

So again, I feel nothing is for naught…The book read, the contemplation that arises, the life experiences of relationship, parenting, working; whatever has come into your world, they all help inform this subtle sense of a movement forward toward that freedom, that great love, at the center of each moment, in each moment.

So follow the golden trail.

Follow this grace.

Just keep following it….
