open the sails as you approach
the thin line of distant shore
you look back briefly
only to reference
that which has been left
that which has catapulted you
forward
as well as
a marker of so much ahead...
it is all love
the old
the new
the in-between...
and all you know is that
a fresh breeze blows
filling your sails
crisp
cool
new
and you open your arms
to that which
comes toward you
all the while knowing
it is all
now...
