moonbeams
rich in velvet vitamins
soothing touch
to skin
to marrow
in its milky opalescence
getting out of the
car this
evening
I hold my three year old up
so he can see this full moon
on the horizon
and moonbeams spill over his
moon face
splashing on to the asphalt
behind us
sun’s fiery rays muted by
this completed lunar landscape
cascades silver and silent
forming a cooling pool
clean and quiet
on our suburban road
